The Client understands that the role of the Nutrition Coach is to;

 

  • Encourage the client to discover what they want to achieve for their own health and wellbeing 

  • Support the client to define what their idea of “optimal” wellness is, as it applies to their life and support clients in defining a clear vision of where they want to go

  • Help clients identify the changes they need to make in lifestyle habits

  • Help and guide clients to learn how to achieve these goals and build confidence in their ability to make the desired changes

  • Encourage clients to set their own goals that are specific and achievable.

  • Only provide information in the area in which the coach holds credentials. In addition to working under a practitioner who can support prescriptive diets and supplements if needed or appropriate to the client. 

  • My credentials: a graduate of Functional Nutrition Academy as well as a Culinary Nutrition Expert and Certified Instructor.

  • Help clients come up with strategies to overcome obstacles that might get in the way of their desired change

  • Inspire clients with information, recipes, motivation, support to truly believing in their client’s ability to change and imparting this belief

  • Encourage the client to take responsibility and make choices that they have come up with

  • Use their “toolkit” of knowledge in the areas of health, fitness and lifestyle to provide options and choices for the client to consider, but only when asking their permission in advance

  • efer clients to appropriately trained health professionals for specific advice or consultation.


 

The role of the nutrition coach will not;

 

  • Prescribe prescriptive diets outlining calories, micro and macro nutrients

  • Does not treat or cure any disease, condition or other physical or mental ailment of the human body. Rather, the Coach is a mentor and guide who has been trained in holistic health coaching to help clients reach their own health goals by helping clients devise and implement positive, sustainable lifestyle changes. 

  • The Client understands that the Coach is not acting in the capacity of a doctor, licensed dietician-nutritionist, psychologist or other licensed or registered professional, and that any advice given by the Coach is not meant to 

  • take the place of advice by these professionals. 

  • If the Client is under the care of a healthcare professional or currently uses prescription medications, the Client should discuss any dietary changes or potential dietary supplements use with his or her doctor, and should not discontinue any prescription medications without first consulting his or her doctor. 

  • The Client has chosen to work with the Coach and understands that the information received should not be seen as medical or nursing advice and is not meant to take the place of seeing licensed health professionals.
